All Change at Paper House and Medici
From July 1st 2009, ‘The Great British Card Company’ will become the new umbrella organisation under which Paper House, Medici Cards and the brokerage facility Waterwells Distribution, will operate.
The Company’s independent sales force will carry both Paper House and Medici products, and have been re-aligned to have smaller territories giving them time to properly present both product portfolios.
“The advantages of streamlining at this stage are obvious”, commented Chairman Peter Reichwald, “but it is of paramount importance to retain the identity and integrity of both brands. For that reason, Paper House and Medici Cards will continue to have a separate creative resource within our studio”
Customers will benefit from a lot less paperwork – one invoice, one statement for instance, while dual stockists will more easily be able to re-order both product ranges in one transaction. But as Peter notes “When we acquired Medici Cards last Summer, we were surprised how little ‘crossover’ there was amongst retailers – only around 10% took both products. With the new structure of the sales force, there is a great opportunity for Paper House and Medici to enjoy a much wider distribution” he adds.
The Great British Card Company will also become the ‘parent’ for national accounts and both Charity divisions within the group, although the brands will remain separately represented as before.
