What sort of submissions are you looking for?
We’re always glad to receive artist's submissions for cute, contemporary, humorous, fine art, photographic, traditional and children’s cards.
We’re also happy to accept copywriter's submissions for humourous and traditional cards.
We make cards for just about every occasion from “New Baby” to “With Sympathy”, for all the “milestone” birthdays and for all the family. And of course, we also make cards for Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Valentine's Day. |

How do I submit humour ideas?
You don’t need to draw great cartoons, if you’ve written a joke that you think would be good on a greetings card just write it down (perhaps with a thumbnail sketch or even a written description of the picture) on a folded sheet of paper, put the punchline inside and send it in. If you can draw great cartoons then send them in too! You can also send us computer printouts as well as jpeg images on CD-ROM.

We negotiate a fee for the world-wide reproduction rights of each design separately. This usually lasts from the date of publication until the design is discontinued.

Do you have an enviromental policy?
Paper House is based on the Waterwells Business Park, south of the city of Gloucester. We are one of the largest direct-to-retail greeting card publishers in the UK. Our offices and warehouse are the fulcrum for an ongoing process of creating new ranges as well as adding to existing lines, which are then distributed countrywide to High Street outlets.
Our Policy:
Throughout our product creation, warehouse and distribution processes, we recognise that we contribute to many impacts upon the environment. We are committed to minimising these effects and eliminating any risks of pollution to the environment. All of our employees are made aware of their personal responsibility to ensuring our environmental performance, and will be provided with the required training and resources to ensure compliance. We support the integration of environmental considerations and objectives into our business decisions.
Our Objectives:
We will maintain a comprehensive and systematic structure for managing environmental issues throughout the organisation.
We will continue to review all our business operations, identifying and, where possible, quantifying our environmental impacts.
We will comply with current legislation and, where practical, seek to meet future legislative requirements ahead of relevant deadlines.
We will continue to improve our efficiency in the consumption of energy and other natural resources.
We will continue to improve our efficiency in the minimisation of waste and seek to recover as much as economically practical and ensure that the remainder is disposed of responsibly.
We will set appropriate environmental targets and regularly monitor progress in achieving them.
We will ensure that our colleagues are aware of relevant environmental issues and of their roles and responsibilities in delivering the overall programme.
We will take environmental considerations into account in our procurement decisions, ensure that our suppliers and contractors are aware of our policy and encourage them to commit to good environment practices.
We will review and monitor our environmental programme regularly, including the relevance of our policy and objectives and identify examples of best practice that could be introduced.
